Meet Prema

Andrea Marenco-Snyder (Prema) is the founder and co-director of the Therapeutic Yoga Institute (TYI), where she brings nearly a decade of experience in yoga therapy, meditation, and contemplative philosophy to create a truly transformative learning environment. TYI offers foundational 200-hour and advanced certification programs designed to deepen participants' skills in therapeutic yoga, emphasizing the integration of yoga philosophy and embodied, mindful practices. Prema's programs empower yoga teachers to refine their skills, cultivate therapeutic sensitivity, and guide students in experiences that support healing, self-awareness, and holistic well-being.

Prema’s approach to therapeutic yoga is informed by five years of intensive practice and training at the Sat Yoga Ashram, where she studied under Shunyamurti, developing a deep understanding of Advaita Vedanta and Samkhya philosophy, meditation, and the healing arts. Her work at TYI weaves in these influences, along with her background in depth psychology, somatics, and non-dual philosophy, to foster programs that support both personal growth and professional enrichment. Prema’s commitment to cultivating insight and compassion also extends into her role as a therapeutic teacher and manager at Lotus Care KC Yoga Therapy and Wellness, a lead teacher trainer at CorePower Yoga and faculty member at Nexus Yoga Institute, where she has helped train hundreds of yoga teachers.

At TYI, Prema’s teaching emphasizes the therapeutic potential of yoga through experiential learning, equipping teachers to offer their students practices that promote self-discovery, resilience, and clarity. TYI’s supportive environment and transformative approach make it a unique choice for those seeking to deepen their teaching and bring mindful, heart-centered methodologies into their work.
